For auction is a 1960's Audemars Piguet ref. 5281 steel 36mm oversized automatic. The Good: 1. Rare and important reference; oversized all steel. 2. Unpolished and exceptional case, lovely dial. 3. Working and functioning correctly, +6 seconds per day and +178 amplitude. 4. Nice dial variation with faceted baton markers. In the metal it feels like the markers float above the dial and the lacquer gives a 3D effect. Th Bad: 1. A very minor imperfection in the lacquer at towards the center hands stack near 9 o'clock.
