WAKMANN VINTAGE DIVER CHRONOGRAPH ACRYLIC BEZEL PATINA DIAL VALJOUX 7736 1970'sWakmann
For auction is a 1970's Wakmann 3-register diver chronograph in great overall condition with a brilliant amber patina to the dial. Wakmann is a storied company with many great chronographs to remember it by. 3-register chronographs in this classic diver case are rare and the case was made thicker to accommodate a Valjoux 7736. The movement is running and keeping great time. The watch has a blue and white acrylic bezel in fantastic condition. The dial, which may have been blue in a previous life, has turned to a rich amber color with the subdials remaining their original silver color. This Wakmann is mounted on a brown distressed NATO-style leather handcrafted strap that coordinates beautifully with the patina monster dial. If you love watches that have lived a life and consider patina to be special and beautiful like we do, look no further.

Case: The 38mm STAINLESS STEEL chrono diver case is untouched with its original high polish finish in good condition with nice sharp edges and a screw back. The unidirectional rotating bezel in blue and white acrylic is very bright and crack-free. It complements the amber dial. This Wakmann has its original acrylic superdome crystal.
Dial: The 'tropical' 3-register chronograph dial has experienced some heavy patina. It has turned a rich, even deep amber color with some small dark spots that recall the look of finished fruitwood. The subdials are started out silver and have darkened slightly. The dial is what we lovingly call a "patina monster" and we love it. We think you will love this one-of-a-kind look.
Condition: 80% (8.0 of 10): nice case and good bezel, working well, great patina dial
