For auction is a 1960's Glycine Airman Special Vietnam-era EPSA (E. Picquerez SA) compressor case 24 hour dial patent nr. 314050 caliber A. Schild (AS) 1700/01 date automatic 36.5mm. A great example with the only notable knock against it being a later replaced crown (it like almost all EPSA produced watches had a crosshatch pattern compressor-style crown). It is otherwise a very good and clean machine. Glycine Airman were the true 'it' watch of the Vietnam era and were among the most commonly scene watches used in that war. This particular example has an excellent and even patina, nice case condition and what appears to be the original crystal with cyclops. An especially nice Airman Special all around.

Dial: Matte black with tritium markings, 24 hour dial, script font 'Special' text, large arrow hour hand, date at 3 o'clock, very nice even patina and excellent overall dial
Condition: 85% (8.5 of 10): besides a later replaced crown this is a very excellent original example with a very nice dial and a good unpolished case, working correctly
