DOXA CONQUISTADOR SYNCHRON AUTOMATIC 40MM ACRYLIC BEZEL SILVER DIAL ITALIAN MKTDoxa
For auction is a Doxa Conquistador. In 1969, Doxa introduced a version of their professional Sub 300T and called it the Conquistador. It was the first diving watch to have a helium relief valve (HRV) and was produced in very small numbers. In the early 70's, under Synchron ownership, Doxa used the name again on this consumer grade tough dive watch. This Conquistador is a bit smaller than the Sub, but still imposing at 40mm. It has an attractive brushed cushion case with an acrylic insert bezel. The silver linen dial is in great condition. The watch is mounted on an NSA bracelet and it wears great. Imposing, but not too chunky, the watch wears great, is very rare and a great piece of Doxa history. This watch was made for the Italian market and the day disc reflects this. This is the first time we have seen this model. Doxa diving watches have been hot for the past few years and anything rare from this company is being snapped up. This is a nice diver that is rugged in the Doxa tradition, but thin enough to fit under a shirt cuff. Get this Conquistador while you still have a chance.
