Breitling Premier Ref 790 1940s 35mm Venus 175 Manual Chronograph 'T-250' Steel
Breitling

For auction is a 1940s Breitling Ref 790 35mm Venus 175 manual winding chronograph with silver patina dial and unusual/mysterious caseback engraving: T-250. 1940's Breitling are generally a performance bargain; they can usually be found for a relatively good deal, at least in comparison to other similarly situated watches. This ref. 790 is a great example: it has pump pushers, a good quality column wheel movement, nice size, a handsome dial, a screw back case back and what is likely a war time usage based on the engraving. Were it to be another big name brand it could be 2-3x what this watch will go for. As such it represents a relative bargain. The only thing to note on it is that the bridge is unsigned; while it should be signed Breitling this watch very well could be totally original...so many times with vintage watches there are mysteries surrounding various aspects that will never get solved.
