BELECO CHRONOGRAPH SPILLMAN CASE 1940's STAINLESS STEEL WATERPROOF GREAT DIALBeleco
For auction is a Beleco vintage chronograph from the 1950's. "Beleco" is an Esperanto word meaning "Beauty" and there are records showing it to be registered as a trademark in 1916 by Max Brailowsky of La Chaux de Fonds. What happened to this company is unknown, but I suspect it did not make it past the 1960's, based on the design of the other Beleco watches out there. This gorgeous example is just beautiful and a great way to remember this old name. The watch has a classic dial with an inner tachymeter, an outer telemeter and a great amber patina to the dial. Combined with an unpolished Spillmann case in excellent condition, this watch really sings. Black syringe hands with untouched original lume complete the package. The movement is a signed Landeron and is running and keeping time better than most chrono movements of this era. A really fun watch with a great vintage look and quality to spare, this Beleco is the real deal.
