Abercrombie Heuer Solunar Tides 1950s 36mm Radium Rare Double Signed StainlessAbercrombie & Fitch
For auction is a rare and important early 1950's Heuer Abercrombie 36mm double signed stainless steel large case tides watch gold arabic numerals dial caliber A. Schild 1188 manual winding push button tides indicator corrector. An amazing, famous and exceptionally rare Heuer with a unique dial. Made for the Sportsman who needed to know the tides a very few were made and most just haven't survived the decades. A piece that would be at home in the catalogue of every top auction house there are very few that surface in a given year, and in some years none at all. But for all that rarity is a beautiful design that has echoed through the decades and remained a touchstone and instantly identifiable: that tides indicator disk in the incredibly 1950's colorway of teal and mustard yellow is mid-century at its best. An incredibly excellent and honest example of a nearly unfindable watch.
