For auction is a Movado triple date moonphase. The 1950's was really the golden age of Movado. Their watches in this period exuded style and quality. Movado specialized in  complicated watches, like the triple date moonphase you see here. This particular watch is oversized, all original and very striking. The in-house Movado Factories-signed movement is well crafted and running great. This piece is oversized at 36mm and it's steel case appears even larger, thanks to the long faceted lugs. The dial is original and and shows some patina.  Vintage Movado watches have been getting a lot of attention from collectors and triple date moonphases have been increasing rapidly. This  watch is really the best of this genre: among the rarest and largest of the triple calendar moon phase watch style made in the golden age of watches (1940's-50's).

Case: Unpolished STAINLESS STEEL oversized 36mm case with pointed and faceted lugs. Compression-fit back with intricate Movado logo and serial.

Dial:  Original opaline white dial with alternating arrow head and Arabic markers in yellow gold. Minute track is yellow gold perlage, with black printed dates of the month in black. Apertures for month and day are on the upper central portion of the dial, under the Movado signature. The small seconds subdial is guilloched with a moonphase aperture. The moon disc is a deep blue with a shimmering silver moon and stars. Dauphine minute and hour hands are gold with a red-tipped date indicator hand. Dial is in very good condition with a warm patina that adds to the look of the watch

Condition: 80% (8.0 of 10): unpolished original case and dial with some patina, serviced and running perfectly
