Omega Speedmaster Mark III 176.002 Blue Dial Silver Chapter Unpolished Cal 1040Omega
For auction is a 1970's Omega Speedmaster Mark III 176.002 caliber 1040 blue and silver 'volcano' case automatic chronograph stainless steel blue dial silver chapter on original bracelet. This is what original never polished looks like. While a cottage industry has sprung up around putting back this exact polish on beat up 70's Omega's that had it, this is a very good example of the original genuine article. It also has something that no other Mark III 176.002 has: a blue dial with a silver tachymeter chapter. A scan of the interwebs turns up no examples with a blue dial and silver chapter; the watch as per known scholarship came blue/blue, silver/blue and black/black. And yet there is no question that this watch is correct and original as is the chapter. So not only is it in a lovely unpolished condition it is an absolute rarity and extra-special piece.
